Re: [Simmons Drums] Wanted: SDS7 cards and selector pad

2011-06-04 by sovereigng@aol.com

It's possible to repair your selector pad. The interior of it makes a grid
pattern. Selecting a kit involves pressing two lines together to complete
the circuit at one of sixteen points. When hairline cracks develop in these
lines, adjacent intersections don't connect as they should causing
intermittent connections or none at all.

Also, the multi-EPROM cards are utilized by using the resonance of the
filter as a selector. Don't quote me; I haven't used my quad-EPROM card in
years. But, you don't need a dual output pad to use a multi-EPROM card. In
fact, a dual trigger pad wasn't manufactured by Simmons until '86 (SDS-9),
or so, other than the cymbal they made for the SDS-V.

As for additional cards, I may have what you need. Contact me off list
for those.

Folks, I'd like some extra cards for my SDS7. Currently I have the standard
bass, snare, 3 toms and hi hat. Ideally I'd like an extra 3 tom cards and
one of those double snare cards (do I need a special pad for that snare
card?)but failing that would be open to whatever anyone has go to offer. I'd
also like another selector pad as my current one is slowly dying and best
thus l that I get another selector pad as a backup.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Thanks & regards,

Rob.
