On the other hand, the DX-cartridges aren't for free and you might well burn them unless you do your homework with a volt meter or similar first. (Compare the prom-problems for Simmons and the EPB.) On a related matter: The Roland memory cards are supposed to work in the Akai VX-600 but in my search for a decently priced Roland card I ran into the Akai original one so I never bothered to test the theory.
