I remember a spring reverb I once owned that had been running on 220 
volts as long as the former owned could remember though the sticker by 
the cord said 110 volts. When checking the inside it was still a 110 
volt devide and the whole PSU was close to giving up from 15-20 years of 
being fed twice that voltage!

I changed the plug to a US one, mentioned the issue in the ad and sold 
it. I bet the buyer simply changed it back. I got that feeling from 
him... :(
