Vintage Simmons Drums (UK) Users Group

The owner may well be a member, but the price is unjustified. Years ago, when I gave up music I had a hard time facing the reality of the prices that electronic equipment had dropped. You used to save and sweat for this gear but nowadays most of it is worth a fraction of the price you paid. Its the same with computers. I had a SGI computer and screen that cost well over £15,000 when new nowadays it is worthless. I wouldn't even bother putting it on ebay just use it for running charts and doing some server work. Simmons gear has a special place in all our hearts. Even though it would be far cheaper to get a set of mesh drum heads and a really good computer/sampler, I still drool at the SDX. At least guitarists know that there is a good chance the wood in a swamp ash Suhr guitar may never be available again.

Man, that is absolutely crazy. Don't get me wrong - I'm all for seeing the value of Simmons gear rise - but a starting bid of $2500 and a 'buy it now' of $2900? Wow.



On the other hand, $2900 is a pittance compared to the $6500 he dropped on it initially.
