Jesper,
The ADT is the Acoustic Drum Trigger unit. Much like the Trixer, it
converts trigger info to MIDI info via drum triggers (probably would
do pads as well). Kinda like a scaled down version of the MTM or a
better brother of the TMI. It came out near SImmons' end so I've
never actually used one - haven't seen many either. I imagine it
has "patches" that remember MIDI note number, probably "gate time"
and maybe a few other tricks. I'm not sure what connecting a MIDI
cable to the "In" would control outside of program changes. I believe
Simmons sent me a brochure back in the early 90's. I have to have a
look. I know it was primarily for converting acoustic drum signals
into MIDI.
On another note, has anyone ever seen a live "turtle trap" like the
one ChokingSusan posted? I always thought it looked better than the
portakit, but I have never, ever, seen one much less used one.
Anybody out there tried this little guy?
Graham
