Hi dudes! I know the net mentions it as a prototype and also that one once belonged to New Order. But that is just about all the info there is about this mysterious unit. A few weeks ago it (or one of them) surfaced on Ebay and with some mysterious luck/divine intervention, I won the auction at a ridiculous price (63 euro). Upon arrival it didn't light up and when I opened it (prepared to find a totally destroyed unit) I realised the PSU had bounced around after breaking loose from its soldering points (bad idea not to screw it tightly to the board). Anyway, today I had some time and my daughter was sleeping so now the PSU is back in place, a fuse replaced and some new wires hooked up and the SDS-2 is working! In addition to the two drum cards inside there is also a headphone amplifier. Was it fitted there 'cause there were space left or (or am I dreaming now?) 'cause Stephen Morris needed it? ;) I'm still curious to find out more about this weird little unit. How many were made? Was this the only one maybe? Pictures will appear on my site in the near future, but more about that then... electronically yours, jesper www.electronic-obsession.se
