The first thing to check is the condition of the RAM board with the batteries, may be the seller can make a picture (if you see some green sauce, forget it...). After more than 20 years i don't think the batteries are ok. If the RAM or CPU board are moving only slightly while being transported, it will result in malfunction due to shortcut. Good luck

  Well, definetly a collectors item. But I would never use ANY SDS7 in a professional 
  environment. To faulty. Even if this kit has never been used, it is more than 20 years old 
  and after this period of time "pristine condition" is superficially. Even if it's 3 days old, the 
  whole construction is weird and unreliable.
  And the price, well, it's always worth what a neird is willing to pay. It's a collector price and 
  painful but somehow ok
