Standard pots are usually 16mm and 24mm in size.  Is it possible you
told her the size of the shaft, rather than the size of the pot's
body?  Measure the back of the pot (the part inside the module).  

One thing to be aware of, Mouser sells a lot of styles of each.  Some
have "detents" which you don't want.  Post the part numbers here first
and someone here can verify them before you order.  It's really easy
to buy the wrong ones.  I know first hand.  :)
