Re: [Simmons Drums] SDS9 for repai

2007-09-22 by jesper@electronic-obsession.se

Don't count on me, I'm just a rookie when it comes to electronics. I have my
broken Odyssey and a friends SH-2 standing here staring at me with a sullen
face (well, almost). I bet you can find someone over there to help out. The
tom output issue sounds like a contact issue which should easily be found by
someone with a ohm-meter or similar. The fuzz and crackling - are you sure
it's not proms or are all these the originals...? Or simply bad contacts on
the outputs? Cleaning these might help...

Regarding the repair I'd see what the list says, but otherwise it could be
worth checking ont he Analogue Heaven list. Many americans there with
experience. You might even find a good repairman in Philly...

Send the black tom pads my way of they're the riot type! ;)

Good luck!

electronically yours, jesper

Wondering if anyone (Jesper) would be able to give me a hand in
repairing my SDS9 module. It works, for the most part, save for the hi
tom channel, which will work on it's own seperate output, but not on
the main or stereo outs. Also, have some annoying fuzz and crakling
sounds on a few of the presets. Also, missing a few knobs that were
broken off by a previous owner. I'm in Philadelphia, would be willing
to ship it overseas for repair and/or a good reconditioning, or will
trade for some old SDSV pads!!!!
