FWIW: I know for a fact that at least one guy ont he list has been in 
contact with Dave recently... So stick around and you might get an answer. 
If you want to _clone_ as in doing an exact copy the best way would be to 
unpopulate a real circuit board and simply scan it...

But as Michael said, since you cannot call it SDS-whatever without risking 
trouble I'd go with his idea; more oscillators, more LFO:s etc. I simply 
love my SDS-IV but I wish I had more of it! ;)

FWIW, there are some very good discrete-based clones of the SSM2040
filter and the SSM2044 chip is still available. Just hard to find
and then to pay for when you do!

Parts in the SDS3 are no longer standard or cheapo. But it is
doable; and for some that is enough to reason to do so.

Anybody know where to find Dave Simmons or Business records of sales
and aquisitions?
