Re: [Simmons Drums] Re: FLOOR MODEL SD5K

2007-01-15 by Jman

Hi Scott..... This is just my personal opinion. From all that I have seen and read about this kit.... I would suggest just returning this kit to GC for a refund or exchange. IMO you would be much better off starting over and spending a little more money for an entry level kit that is built more dependable and durable. If there was one component of that kit you purchased worthy of building a kit around, that might be a different situation, but IMO it would be a waste of money since really, the rack, pads, and module......nothing there to build upon.... Resale value will reflect that... so, get out while the getting is good..... Jman

I'm sorry but I doubt we can help you.
This is forum for Simmons drums, & the new chinese kit you're talking
about isn't actually a SImmons at all .
Just a Chinese kit commercialised by Guitar Center who had bought (&
stolen..) the Simmons name(in US) .
But it has nothing to do with a SImmons.
please read the topics concerned in this forum ...
Dave Simmons himself had written an explanation & triggered a
discussion about it ...
For the anecdotis , this problem is now in the justice hands.
I consider you're the first victim of that ripp off...
the SD5k is a cheap kit with a Big name on it ...
the real name should be "Guitar centre" (made in CHina )
but has nothing to do with the historic Simmons drums.
& Simmons company doens't exist anymore for nearly 10 years now...

Good luck & sorry for these weird news...
If you have any questions about it, ask Guitar Centre why...
They know more than anyone about that situation.

Good luck again,
Patrice.
