Hi, & Welcome !

I have 2 SDS9 that have both the same problem ...
Therefore I'm not using that much so ...I just let it like this ...

Once, I had the same problem on my SDX, when we opened the console we've seen that a screw was going through the headphones lead ...

I'm not sure it does help you, but you know a bit more about it ...
I'm tempted to say that it might be often on a Simmons ... from my own experience...
