Vintage Simmons Drums (UK) Users Group

I just recently purchased this drum set and I must say it is pretty 
good all and all. But one thing bothers me, and not just a little. 
For some reason, the bass pad only works in the center, this being 
very frustrating when trying to do double bass. I came accross the hi-
hat pedal which can be used as another bass drum but it closes out 
the hi-hat as well when pushed. So I was wondering if anyone has any 
idea's on how to make my double bass pedal work on the bass drum. Is 
the only way I can do this by bending my second pedal a wee bit to 
the right?
