> Hi Patrice > just for the record > nothing personal to anyone ~~~~~~~~~no problem ! > The thing is: I wished Dave made some more comments > then this forum would be much more alive ( haha) ~~~~~~~~Well he has no time for that I'm afraid ...he's managing another successful story by now ... > my point is: I freaking love the Simmons shit (for as much I'm an expert, don't > know all his shit, it's also for nostalgia reason, I mean the man nearly > invented Edrumming, and made it out to something) > It's more that I don't like it that schematics aren't available > Just to keep those goodies going on ~ > ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~main of them are available if you ask to Simmonssynth .net for example ...or on the forum ... therefore , I will try to see if I can obtain something from Dave ... It's just a matter of availability & time for him . He's very nice but he's just involved in "time consuming" things. You have to know that main of his Simmons spares had disappear with the dead companies ... > I WOULD NOT MIND PAYING FOR THEM > ( a fair price offcourse, not a "collector's item price) > > MAn I paid a fortune for my SDX and then I found out that there wasn't anything > on the internet. That's for a poor musician a great risk, owning a drumkit > which you can't play in a band ( to fragile, heavy) and just have it at your > garret > eating dust just for nostalgia reasons. So when the guy comes along who pays > the price I want to have, just sold the beast. Man it still psses me off, > but I was short on the money ~~~~~~~~~~ I understand ... > Whatever reason people use Edrums I don't mind as long it's not for rplacing > "real" drums > (Oeps I do that too, roland handsonic (great fun, could come close to being > "perfect", great response but a drag to program " a chance missed ) with > 2 kick pedals and hihat controller ( easy for the gigs where I normally use > a shitload off "real" percussion which gets blown away by all those nice > " collegues") > I hate myself really for it, but then again, I play tabla bongo, conga and > all, just with the same techniques And I'm a kind off practical person ( > since my kids were born and I don't have any time left to really learn to > play and instrument > > Enough off me > it's time for something new > How about those "mandala" pads danny carrey off TOOL is using > anyone over here who played them, heared them ( except for the new TOOL album) > ~~~~~~~~~~~~it seems quite expensive ...I only saw the demo on the site ... Nothing makes me think , "oh I have to get that" ... I remember that I had been very shocked by the first sight of an SDX , for example ... Then I had to manage to get one at any price ; & I had basically no money ! & I did .....2 or 3 years later. > And what about the AddOne ( two??) from dynacord ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~The one & the Two are not the same machines > Is this an ok machine patrice?? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ the ADDTWO is a very good machine but not very reliable ...I had 2 of them , two breakdown ... the "2 unit high" was a very good tool ... The ADDONE was a more 8 or 12 bits machine with some Rom in it & a optional drive ... very grainy very good filters ...but a bit of pain to use ... it sounded very industrial , very german ! The ADDTWO was more a 16 bits / 44khz sampler, a more clean sound ; very dynamic ! but it was just a sampler no sound on board ... a quite good library ! > I thought it was mainly a sampler ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Yep ! > help me out on this one ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~which one ? I still have an ADDONE + ADD Drive but I don't use it much ...therefore it's a big beast too ! But I'm not so fan of this big cold sound ! When time is professionnal I bring my DDRUM3 with me ...it did 250 gigs & it had been always very reliable ! I have to say that I'm playing some samples in it that I transfered from my SDX !!! Sometimes I bring my SDSV ! Now when I work for me I try my Simmons sounds & units ...because it's more magic ...more grainy !!! > > Besides all my shit spilling > Conservative or not > I don't give a shit as long as the outcome is good music ( and sounds great) ~~~~~~~~s you say ! ; - ) > What a passion > keep this forum alive people > > BERK! > Ok See you!
