I did one of these many years ago. The midi in and out drivers are near the holes in the back, but there were extra components around the individual drum voices elsewhere on the board. I have all the documentation and a broken scanner - if you're in the UK (or maybe Europe) I might consider posting the stuff to you, otherwise it'll have to wait 'till I get a new scanner (soon hopefully).
