Vintage Simmons Drums (UK) Users Group

I am wondering if the brains for an sds9 will work with the pads of my
sds8.  I love the factory sounds of the sds8 module, but I am
intrigued by the possibility of the midi interface of the sds9 as well
as the sheer number of factory and customizable presets.  Rather than
purchase an entirely new kit i'm hoping that i could simply find an
sds9 module that would work with my beautiful red hex kit.       
I am new to this forum and I am assuming that this is a very basic
question for most gear afficianados, but any help would be greatly
appreciated.
also I would be curious as to the general consensus on the sds9. 
anyone out there own one that would be willing to share about their
experience with it.
