[Simmons Drums] Re: SDS 7 for sale

2006-09-21 by hamsterdrum85

Well, I went back to finding some of my old electronic drum
documents. By the looks of the kit, it ABSOLUTELY looks to be worth
at leats $500. I found out $50 is a really bad eBay minimum bid,
unless the item doesn't work. The brain is usually worth $200-$250.
The entire kit is usually worth $450-$500.That kit is definately not
for me because:

1. I will not have that kind of money until spring, 2007.

2. All I wanted in the kit was the brain and selector pad

3. It may end up being an all-digital kit instead of a digital-
analog kit (I can tell by everything in the picture that the kit was
made in either 1985 or 1986, in which the SDS7 went all digital. The
pads and hardware in the original 1984 kit is different. The pads
they came with had really flimsy shells, are harder to trigger
unless you hit the pads really hard, and are not service-friendly
like the pads of the 1985-86 kit. The pads in the kit shown in the
pictures are the top-quality sds9-type pads with XLR jacks instead
of TRS jacks, but the hot wires are different than the hot wires of
the original SDS7 pads and brain.)

Note that I am not trying to rip anybody off, but I researched
everything wrong until I found my documents.

If anyone will have one up by the spring of next year, I would like
to know.

Thank You

Dean Rumsey
