We examined the old analogue hihat module in munich. Devo (www.beatboxer.de) has got one. It's true that the LFO is set to a higher frequency to create some kind of FM together with the triangular VCO. But: The secret is, that the VCO is also modulated by the noise generator! They only soldered a single resistor from noise generator output to CV input of the VCO. The analogue hihat sounds a little like a high overblown panflute note, very nice.
Is there somebody owning an analogue cymbal? Did anybody see one? :-)
