thomas: > A frienf of mine owns the second edition analogue Clap Trap and thats the only other one Ive seen. Mine is the first edition one. Don't mention the second one... it's like that Fawlty Towers episode where Basil is so afraid of mentioning the war when a group of germans are visiting the hotel. ;) > I also own the digital hihat with the extra PCB with the ROM on, BUT the Musicaid one uses the analogue circuit to produce the hihat sound. It sounds more like ringmodulated or probably the SSM-Chip Resonance is modulated by a hispeed LFO (FM). Cool - this was news to me! > It might sound different due to some inside tweaking by its former owner, but I think the snare is a bit harsher and has more click. Nice, but that may be the components and the tweakable stuff as you say. I recently ripped a couple of old network cards for PCs apart and found prom-sized ICs that worked fine in the SDS-1s. You would've imagined they sounding the same - right? They didn't even though the cards were all the same (I ripped 8 ICs). > The DS-4 is more like the Polard Syndrum (I own the 478 with original box and all accessories) but with more features. Sounds great. Cool - I'll keep my eyes opened then. Lovely with a 478. I think there are at least three on the list now... >> Buy my Clavia setup then (as advertised in separate mail)! ;) > Im more into the analogue stuff (except for digital Simmons of course ;-) I recognise the feeling. > But if you will let go a SDS-3 Ill take it ;-) Nope, and not the SDS-2 either! *boink* electronically yours, jesper - -- --- ---- ----- ---- --- -- - www.electronic-obsession.se
