All SDS9s I ever opened had batteries (I wish they didn't...). They are located on the solder side of the big board and cause shortcuts on the workbench, if you forget to put a newspaper under it. Voltage is 3.6V, replace it with NiCad, not Mh. Michael [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
