1st of all thanks to those of you who sent me to the link for an SDS-7 manual. PDF's rock! Anyway, I have a favorite song that I wanted to do a drum solo/feature in my band. The song is "Wind Him Up" from SAGA. Anyone remember it? If you are a lover of electronic drum histiry you should check it out. I assumed it was an SDS-V kit but I wondered if I could find out. I found the SAGA website, looked up the drummers name - Steve Negus, Googled "Steve Negus" found his personal site which he has an e-mail address and he sent me the following e-mail... Hi Larry, Yes it was the SDS V Simmons kit with real cymbals (Paiste) To get the explosion sounds, I fed a recorded crash cymbal into the trigger of the floor tom. The keyboard part in the middle was triggered from my hihat, and then the hihat fades back in. I hope that helps!! I don't think you have to worry too much about the sounds......I've played it on my acoustic kit for many years and it still works......the groove is the essence and the sounds are really somewhat secondary I would say....(I didn't think that at the time, mind you, but I do now!!) All the best with your drumming!! By the way, my brother wants to sell my old Ludwig drum kit if you're interested...that's the one I used on Worlds Apart and Heads or Tales........double kicks and 7 toms with cymbals and cases.....white. I think he wants about 2500 US for it. Anyway, good luck with the playing......all the best!! Steve Is this not the greatest? I mean WOW! I am gonna look up Elvis Presley and see what's happening with him! I'm lovin the group. You guys (and gals, Patrice) are the best. Pigletdad
