At that time Simmons kit were used a lot for "pretending to play" in the recording TV studio , & having a modern look ... Even if they were seen all the time they didn't play as much as they were seen ... & to complicate things they might even have triggered a Linn Drum from Simmons pads via a trigger interface ... It was very hard to know what came from what ! Linn, Oberheim, and Simmons all used the same EPROMs. They used the 2764 and the 27128. I found out in "The Cars: Complete Greatest Hits" in the fron cover/booklet that in the album "Heartbeat City", their drummer really used a Linn drum machine (As I have seen in the videos, their drummer played a Simmons kit). > > Patrice Jacquot <Jacquot.Patrice@...> wrote: Remember as well that LINN Drums produced a lot of drum parts at that time > .. > > > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "hamsterdrum85" <hamsterdrum85@...> > To: <Simmons_Drums@yahoogroups.com> > Sent: Saturday, February 25, 2006 5:39 AM > Subject: [Simmons Drums] Questions on Simmons SDS-7 Hi-Hat, Crash, and > RideCymbal sounds > > > > For those of you who have an SDS-7 to toy around with, how can I > > make those cool cymbal sounds?
