The SDS-3was a drum synthesiser, it was capable of producing some
amazing sounds but it wasn't a 'kit' as such. We (the drummers of
the late 70's) used to trigger 2 channels at once to achieve the
famous 'Simmons' sound, I believe this is what started the development
of the SDS-5.
