Wrong Paul! S'my mallet! The sustain pedal is as you say, just that. I 
don't know why there are two bolted together, it may just be to get a 
wider pedal, but it only has the one function.
On top are the inc/dec switches, the far right pedal is for pitch-bend 
(which I might remove, not very useful to me), and the left pedal 
brings in modulation. The "array" is a useful mass, so it doesn't move 
around at all.
Is your Mallet up and running? Good to know I'm not alone.
