cv and audio processing/mixing question

cv and audio processing/mixing question

2001-12-03 by Junger Joerg

Hi list,

I've got the feeling that my 3panel configuration is lacking mixing and
processing possbilites for both cv and audio. I only have one 3 in one audio
mixer and one active processor. As soon as I want to do a bit more
complicated patch I'm running out of mixing resources. I'm starting to
realize that especially in the cv domain one cannot have enough mixing
possiblities. Am I on the wrong track? Any tipps/hints/discussion are
welcome.

Regards,

Joerg

Joerg -

This is important. I have a dual audio mixer and a dual processor on my 3-panel
and it is barely enough.
I frequently need to do a few things:
1. do mixing of some kind, audio or cv
2. need a bias cv
3. need to trim a single cv before sending it to some other module that doesn't
have adjustable cv in - example - sending pressure cv output from TKB to VCM #2
- without trimming the effect is too gross - if you can reduce the cv going in
you can do more subtle effects.

Serge has several mixers & processors to do this. My next panel has more simple
processors which will handle this. Plus I am getting a single CV mixer - in a
pinch I can use it for audio too ... you can get a CV mixer to handle audio but
you can't get an audio mixer to handle CV. The CV mixer is not ideal for audio
but it can be acceptable in some circumstances.

Good topic!

you can NEVER have enough mixers and /or crossfaders. One of my next panels
is going to consist of nothing but mixers and Xfaders
