Attack-decay envelopes fron DSG's?

Attack-decay envelopes fron DSG's?

2003-05-10 by cuari7

Is it possible?
I thought it was, by patching a gate into the "trigger" IN of the
DSG.
However, it only triggers intermittently (and erratically).
ARRRGHHHH!!!!

Anybody know how to do this without having to resort to a true ADSR?

what are your rise/fall setting? also, try plugging your gate signal to the black, "audio" input...

Actually doing this will give an Attack-Sustain-Release envelope.
I want attack-decay (i.e. to play percussive sounds).

What you're after is a partial-cycle retriggerable AR, which the DSG is
not. Once triggered it will do a full attack-decay cycle. After the
cycle is complete you can trigger it again but attempts to trigger it
before the decay is over have no effect. That's the 'erratic' behavior
you mentioned earlier.

Just set the attack/decay times a little faster than your fastest tempo
for percussive AR envelopes. I do it all the time. While you're at it
don't forget to explore the interesting effects feeding the output back
into the CV input has for sharper or duller percussion.

Gottcha....
Clearly understood.

Thanx for the input, guys!
And keep posting, for cryin'out loud!
Have we ran out of topics to discuss here?

How'bout this one?
The resonant EQ.
Sometimes will give a very unpleasant and noisy distortion when fed
more than 3 vco's. I have to attenuate the output of the mixer they
go through to about 9 o'clock, otherwise GRRR-UNCH!
Any of you guys run other instruments through this module (i.e.
guitars, MIDI synths). If so, how much distortion do you get?
Let me know.

Resonant EQ:

Yes. Mostly drums but the odd guitar.
>If so, how much distortion do you get?
Never any distortion. But then I haven't been trying to get any distortion.
In fact it never occurred to me.
