pseudo-sequences?

pseudo-sequences?

2002-08-11 by circlesround

One more question with regard to the sequencing of a single panel
(again in this case, a pre-formatted STS Animal)...
Is it relatively easy to patch a small modular such as this to play
patterns without advent of a sequencer, however random and 'non-
musical' these patterns might prove to be?
I remember hearing a patch done on an Evenfall Mini-Modular which
employed this type of 'pseudo-sequencing', and was curious if this is
a relatively simple matter. Would the Smooth/Stepped Generator come
into play in this instance - or am I completely missing the point
here?
Thanks again &
Best regards,
Trevor

These sort of pseudo-sequences are usually done with a sample and hold, and
a noise source. Any varying voltage can replace the noise source - a VCO or
LFO for example.

Looking at the modules in the Animal panel, it should be easy enough to
accomplish.
