Wow! This is my first post on the board. I had to chime in on this. I
am very impressed, Peter! Can't wait to see and hear what these modules
can do. Brilliant!

Many of the new modules appeal to me. Some questions below.

M21C Mini Milton
What are the jacks labeled 1 to 8? Does it have the random access via
VC found in the larger Miltons?

M30 Digital VCO Subsystem
I hope not too much digital artifacts are audible... How does it
morph between saw and triangle?

M31 Buffered Mult
I could use pair of inverted outs at the top section a la Analogue
Systems RS230...
http://www.analoguesystems.co.uk/modules/rs230.htm

M33 Triple VCA
Log/Lin switch is welcome. What response curve do the other two VCA:s
have?

mini-milton!

A question about the routings on the M30. Is the associated jack a
CV control of the routings? And if so, when sweeping through
routings is the process smooth or stepped?

Very cool!

Is there a package discount for purchasing the entire ELF series?
Or maybe numbered coupons to send in for the "secret module"???

I wonder how practical the Mini Milton panel layout will be.

The circular arrangement looks good and somehow more "neutral" than 4+4
arrangement. (I have even seen a DIY sequencer with 4+4+4+4 arrangement
for 16 steps. That is not neutral at all: It seems to indicate,
that "techno" music must be made with the device, if you understand
what I mean.)

However, I would assume, that having jacks inside the circle of knobs
will cause problems with cable clutter - especially if the unit is
vertically mounted. Or course, there is the Buchla sequencer which also
has circular arrangement, but there are no jacks inside.

I hear you, although I don't agree with the 'leads you to techno'
issue of the Mini. I just thought it seemed more fun. the center
jacks are merely stage gate outputs, not sure it's going to become a
problem. How often are all of them used at once in a single bank
sequencer? One thing I can say is you have easy access to the outer
knob ring even when all the gates jacks are occupied. I was nervous
on this, but when the prototype faceplate arrived I felt a lot better
about it.

When time allows, could you explain the different "patch" configurations on the Model 30?
I'm assuming they're different freq. mod. algorithms, but am curious if they're linear or
exponential. Even better, if some audio exists it'd be nice to hear the Model 30 in action.

On the Model 21 Mini-Milton, I noticed the numbering on the individual stage gate outputs
runs counter-clockwise (1, 8, 7, etc). I could be missing something here, but that seems a
little counter-intuitive, most people would expect clockwise rotation as normal "forward"
motion in a unit like this.

OK.

(Just to clarify my 'leads you to techno' comment: The circular
arrangement of Mini Milton definitely seems to lean away from
the 'tehcno mood'! This is good in my opinion.)

Mimi milton..which is forward, which is back?

2008-04-21 by (i think you can figure that out)

Mark,

Funny, I stressed over this one and when the faceplates came in, i
looked at them and said..crap, i did it backwards. but then when I
saw the lights going around I realized it's really subjective. You
see the motion, you get into the groove, etc. It's a bit of a mobius.

Truth be told, I may be reversing it for the final faceplates. Teh
numbers in the middle running backwards bug me.

In regard to the Model 30 questions, I've passed this on to Phil
Gallo and he will be getting back. While I made a suggestions to the
M30's operation which have been incorporated, this is Phil's
brainchild.

Seems fitting.
Anticlock is standard for Math and Autocad.

Just when I thought, "well, where the hell am I going to find the
space/money for 4 VCOs for the ASR?" Pow! Dual-function LFO/VCO with
1v/oct tracking.

These Elf modules will be so fricken useful. The M36 alone is
something I've been searching for since I started my modular. Now I
can finally free up my Doepfer polarizing mixer that I was using
purely as an attenuator, and use it for actual mixing functions.

Awe. Some. 6-7 weeks it not long at all, and frankly, it gives me
something to look forward to.
