I hear you, although I don't agree with the 'leads you to techno' issue of the Mini. I just thought it seemed more fun. the center jacks are merely stage gate outputs, not sure it's going to become a problem. How often are all of them used at once in a single bank sequencer? One thing I can say is you have easy access to the outer knob ring even when all the gates jacks are occupied.
