NIN Custom Case

NIN Custom Case

2007-09-23 by gabu_004

Hello Peter,

I'm woundering how does the power distribution works in the NIN custom
case and what type of power supply is being used...
I mean I'm planning to build myself a roadcase/modular synth and I'm
trying to avoid buying doepfer's bus board to reduce as much as
possible the building cost... Also what is being used for the railing
there?

Thanks

g.

The Power system has had a couple of upgrades since Alessandro first
took possesion of the system, but currently it's powered by a 1.7 amp
Power One supply which is mounted in the case behind the lower right
modules.

Power distribution is handled via a long linw of Plan B Model 1 boards
mounted on a single Vector rail which runs across the length of the
chassis at the center, hung about 4 inches from the back of the
modules and bolted to the front rail by a series of standoffs. This
way it's not directly connected to the case wall and is somewhat
protected from bumping due to that.

the rails are Vector T struts. Do a search in this blog - they're
mentioned a few times on in this group. They are svailible at Mouser

hope this helps,

 P
