Adding scale marks to panels

Adding scale marks to panels

2007-11-11 by Duh!

There was an enquiry somewhere in here about how to add scale-marks
round a pot. Someone helpfully supplied a panel with the HPGL files
on it.

I just discovered a java gizmo on the schaeffer website http://
www.schaeffer-ag.de/fileadmin/downloads/jskala.jar

this lets you specify the scale marks you want in some detail and
produces a file to import into the FPD HPGL library.

The user interface is in German. But I'm thick as two short planks
and managed to work it out. Does its work very simply and efficiently
- very Teutonic.

Sorry if this is old news.

I created a 1U and 2U template with HPGL graphics. I had to do the
inner and outer tic marks separately to have different line widths.

I tried this application and it took a few attempts to duplicate the
tic marks. It generates two objects within a single HPGL file so you
can have different line widths. The cost came out the same. I was
hoping that a single HPGL object might be cheaper, but I think the
program treats it as two.

This application will do vertical (inline) tic marks. Might be useful
if I ever do slider controls.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
