I can't wait any more.....

I can't wait any more.....

2007-06-20 by James Elliott

I really want to finish my neural agonizer. Bridechamber didn't make the panel for it like promised and it sounds like I will be waiting for quite some time for the stooge panel - I have no idea how far back in line I am, and it sounds like I may not be able to get one for multiple runs from now..... I've had an uncompleted neural agonizer for about 9 months now and I really want to start using it.

Is there anyway to make FPE's look more like the standard MOTM finish? Is there any kind of texturized clear coat that could help?

Also, any idea what kind of bracket I'll need to use to secure the PCB to the panel? I've built all of my current modules from complete kits so I'm kind of lost in this regard....

Thanks,
Jim

I can do a run next month. Sorry I dropped the ball on that last run; I was also disappointed, as I've had my boards stuffed for two years...
I need to get some DotCom people feeling happy soon, too, and I'm nearly out of 2U blanks and Bintics...

So, Doug and/or I will hook you up soon :)

I'll actually get the metal ball rolling this week. The artwork is already done.

Cheers,
Scott

Speaking of DotCom, is anyone going to do a Neural Agonizer panel for
the DotCom format? I have an un-drilled Stooge panel I'll sell if I
can get a DotCom panel instead! But I have to be assured that I will
get a good looking DotCom panel before I'll let it go. Mind you, I'm
in no real hurry as I have not even started to order all the parts for
my NA yet. But a panel in the hand...

Scott, since you will be doing another run soon, would you consider doing the Oakley VC-LFO? (I thought you had mentioned you had it drawn up)

If you do, I'll purchase 2 of those, 2 VCADSR's, and the Neural Agonizer panel + parts & stuff (maybe a module) all at once :)

Are you going to do parts kits for the oakley modules??

Yeah, that one was the metal guys. Anyone need 20 1U panels w/ the
third pot hole a 1/2" too low? :)

My next run will be:
more 1U and 2U MOTM blanks
more Bintics
Neural Ag
Oakley VC-LFO
DotCom Optic CV Processor

I'm not sure if I'm going to do parts kits for Oakley yet. I need to
recoup some money from the metal runs first.
A few people have sent me BOMs of modules, which I can then quote.
Otherwise I also have to keep track of changes/ modifications to
existing designs, etc., from a bunch of designers.

My Neural Ag for DotCom is still a long way out. Still need to get my
feet wet in that format w/ the 1U CV Optic Processor...

The DotCom blankpanels are at: http://www.synthesizers.com/q131.html
Unfortunately, they only come in 1u, 2u, 4u, and 8u sizes. No odd
sizes other then 1u. I was hoping you'd be able to make your own
blanks so that sizes not offered could be made. If not, it is what it
is, and I'll be hanging onto my NA Stooge panel.

You could always use some extra attenuators for those CVs, and do the
4U, and have Doug silkscreen it.
