Group buy: 8 step 4017 simple sequencer

Group buy: 8 step 4017 simple sequencer

2012-04-19 by gino wong

Hello Mod Synth Brothere and Sisters.

I propose thast we pool our resources and do a group buy on the 8 step board set offered by Hexinverter.  They sell the board for $20 plus $6 postage . If we get together and buy at least 20 the most we will pay for each board set will be $15. Go take a look.  i will volunteer to be front man unless someone else wants to do it.

They are in Canada so i was going to invite the USA members of the group to this purchase although all are welcome (UK is no problem).

You shoud go to the website and take a look.  It is an 8 step 4017 simple sequencer which could be a very good utility module with many uses, primarily short, simple sequences. The average sequence is five notes and my best sequencer cost me over a thousand dollars. At $200 per note, I feel the need to redress that issue by interspersing little sequencers throughout my system.

This project is as simple as Ian Fritz's AD/AR to build. In layout  it is downsized version of the Polyfusion AS1 : 2 boards, on logic, one mechanical that you can mount components on or fly up to a panel from.

For me , one or two hardware sequencers is not enough and I do not like to load sequencers via keyboard or computer.  I like to dial it in and trigger by hand or self initiated event.

You can download the manual here:

Sorry to say it,but I think you missed the boat on the sympleSeq -
He has a few boards left, but the parts kits are gone, and I don't think he's planning to
do any more runs of this project. I just checked the website, and it looks like hes got a total
of 10 more now.

That being said, it's a really nice project. If you decide to do it, check with Ben Marshall at
reSynthesis for front panels. I bought his quad, and it's beautiful!

Hi all!

Things are still rumbling with the sympleSEQ, so don't give up!
Drop Stacy a line and ask what his plans are with regards to this.
I'm not in a position to say too much, so it would be best to speak direct as I might let the cat out of the bag so to speak...

Thanks for the kind words Gary by the way! Just in the process of building a complete Quad for a client right now as it happens too. :-)

Kind regards,

Ben

Hi Gino (and everyone that's shown interest here!)

I definitely have a whole whackload of PCB sets left in stock for sympleSEQ, and am planning to keep stocking them as long as there is demand!

I also have another project in the works called seqSQUARED, which will probably (no, it will!) benefit from having multiple sequencers on hand as well! (check it out: http://www.muffwiggler.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=56316&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0 )

I haven't stocked sympleSEQ kits for a bit due to lack of demand/cost to get a batch going, but am definitely supplying PCBs as long as there is demand still, so feel free to organize a group buy to take advantage of my 25% discount on PCB orders above 10pcs! I'm happy to accommodate whatever people need!

Cheers and have fun building! :D
