From Mosc on E-M:

"If anyone wants to specify that they choose not to contribute even one
cent to electro-music.com, then please do that when you order your
panel.

There is no royalty, or tax. There is only a request for a voluntary
donation, a contribution to support the site which which has made the
Klee possible.

There is no shake down, no fleecing, no coercion, no pressure, no tax,
and there is no resentment if you can not for whatever reason help out.

Sduck, I contacted Mr. Bridechamber and informed him that the designers
of the Klee Sequencer wanted to give the design and the rights to
electro-music.com in order to make it available to the community, and
to provide financial support the site. It is sort of an endowment gift.

I think it only fair that if someone wants to make a derivative product
of the Klee Sequencer, they do so in the spirit of those whose ideas
and hard work made the Klee possible. There is nothing fishy here, just
integrity and generosity."

{end quote}

There was nothing about voluntary in the beginning, but I'm glad it
came to this. It's a classic case of the lines between words and
intentions and interpretations being slippery (mixing metaphors is such
fun). I certainly didn't intend drama. I'm a drama-phobe!

I'll provide an easy link on the Klee panel page when they're
available, for ease of contribution. E-M _is_ awesome. If I didn't have
the biz, a baby and school I'd actually keep up on all those fun
posts!!!!

Whew,

I will happily still buy a KLEE "without" contributing to E-M a second time.

I did that already when I bought the PCB. I am glad to see a resolution to this and hope to see the KLEE panel design increase future PCB sales further, as I am sure they have already. I appreciate the option for people to have the option to chose about the contribution, but I think most will buy without making one. People can contribute to EM at anytime without that option via PayPal. Going to rest easy now...

Whew, crisis averted!

JH Scanner build

2009-04-20 by Scott Juskiw

I've completed my build of the JH Interpolating Scanner and Scanner
Chorus Vibrato and have posted some notes about it here:

http://www.tellun.com/motm/mods/jhscanner/jhscanner.html

This uses my "revisionist" small-knob panel layout, which I'm still
hoping to see in the Bridechamber catalog someday. I can confirm that
everything fits into 3U, even the humongous rotary switch. Sorry I
didn't get a chance to record any sounds with it yet. I came up with
some fairly strange things during testing but didn't think to record
them.

Thanks to JH for making this circuit available. And thanks to Dave
Brown for being the first (to my knowledge) to actually build one and
post info about it.

That is some wiring job, Scott. Great!
