Photo Metal Panel Sources

Photo Metal Panel Sources

2009-03-24 by peng3002

I'm interested in having panels made with the photo anodizing process (metal photo?).

Could someone recommend a company who does this in the US?
How about rough prices per panel and minimum order size?

I currently get my panels made by FPE because, well, they do everything; anodize, label, drill. Do the photo metal places offer drilling or punching holes?

Thanks,
p.

If you search for the trade names Metalphoto or Fotofoil you will find firms that use these processes. The company pointed to by the link above will drill your panels as well as expose and etch. They manufacture the Metalphoto aluminium as well as the alternative Fotofoil. I have yet to use them myself but am told they are very good. There are plenty of nameplate and instrumentation panel firms out there that use this same processes. Miller Dial in California: http://www.millerdial.com/ use Fotofoil process which is only available in matte black while, Metalphoto has more variety of finishes.

I'd also considered using laser etching companies from supplied file-geometry and pre-anodized panels to avoid the slightly more involved photo-processes, but never got that far. http://adafruit.com/laser/
