Pots for Bridechamber PCBs

Pots for Bridechamber PCBs

2008-07-03 by Scott Deyo

I'm updating the site with some custom Alpha pots for Bridechamber stuff -- Threeler,
ChaQuO, Wave Mults, Bi'N'Tic.
I couldn't find any that were linear, 1/4" shaft, 300 degree rotation, .2" or .1" spacing, less
than $5, so I had to get 1000 of these.
The log parts are available from Mouser, but not linear. Weird.

And if any of you have those Alphas I was using before, that were crappy (phantom
detents, 275 degree rotation), I'll send you replacements for free. Just let me know.

Cheers,
Scott Deyo

Jameco sells linear 300-degree 1/4" shaft 24mm pots with solder lugs,
but I'm assuming these are PCB mount??

I'm still looking for a good source for knobs for my stand-alone Tau Phaser.

I've been kind distracted with my Dyncaco rebuilding...

Yes, PCB mount. For solder lug there are plenty of options.

You could always get some antique bakelite knobs from eBay for your phaser. Just an idea.

Cheers,
Scott

I've looked on ebay and google, but didn't find anything. I just
need to find a place that sells surplused knobs for electronics, but
all these knobs for furniture and cabinets keep clogging my search
results. It just seems silly that the knobs will cost more than the
pots.

Speaking of ebay, check out my "fixed filter bank" :)

Try throwing the word "control" or "instrument" into the search to
narrow things down a bit.

Knobs (was Re: Pots for Bridechamber PCBs)

2008-07-05 by Scott Deyo

http://www.tubesandmore.com/
www.allelectronics.com
www.jameco.com

I have around 100 EMS-style knobs, w/ the "satin" middle, if anyone wants some. I think
$2 per would be good. I can't remember what I paid for them. I got them from Cliff UK a
few years ago. They're push-on, but not knurled. They grip just fine. I had doubts about
that ("No set screw? C'mon...."), but they're very nice.

I was going to build a huge synth w/ them. At this rate, I'll be dead 400 years before I get
to that project. Not a unique modular malady, I'm sure.
: )

But I did make my own Digital Noise and Slope Generator -- great modules!
The Slope Gen, I connect to a sequencer. 'Through' goes to 1v/oct, up to exp fm, down to
lin fm, and you can dial in little pitch 'accents', the width of which are controlled by the
Slop Gen's Sensitivity knob. Sweet!

Cheers,
Scott

RE: [ModularSynthPanels] Pots for Bridechamber PCBs

hey. Scott.

sorry for such a late reply on this.
my bi-n-tic that i ordered last year came with those crappy style pots & i never really thought to upgrade at the time.... kinda lazy & distracted.

anyways, i've been meaning to do another order & ask for those pot replacements at the same time, but have not got around to it strictly for financial reasons.

so, is their a chance i could still get the replacements???  not in a hurry of course just thought i should email you about this as it's been sitting in my inbox since last summer.

also, i've got some obsolete ic's that may or may not be of use in the synth world & i mean to catalogue them, then let you know about them to see if you might be interested in some sorta trade of components & what not.

thanx, Darren Shorsky.
