CGS Frac panels?

CGS Frac panels?

2008-03-28 by kwote uno

Forgive me if I missed any files or messages in the archives, but does anyone have a fair amount of FPD files for CGS designs in frac format available? I plan on building a fair amount of the CGS catalog in frac format and was hoping I could get a head start on things.

I tweaked the Blacet Mult FPD in the files section into a CGS Dual Chime and sent it off to FPE last night. Can't say I have much of a handle on the software being new to it all but just enough that I'm atleast getting drill hole size and allignment right.

Thanks.

hey kwote, i want to throw out a suggestion to you, since i know youre just
getting started.

first, go buy yourself something like this (calipers)--they are cheap.

now, get your pcb and order your parts first! receive them.
now you've got your switches, jacks, pots, etc.
you can use those calipers to determine exactly the size hole you need.
then...design your panel and send to fpe. it will save you some serious
heartache.

thanks. i'll add it to the list. but i think i should be good with this first project as i used the values already given on the FPD file i tweaked. really all i changed was arrangement of the holes and text. that's about it.

i think i'll swing buy radioshack this weekend.

thanks for those. i've seen you're site before. nice stuff on there.

i'm going for drums first. my next project after the dual chime will be the dual drum and eventually the cynare, but really any CGS in frac will do as they all appeal to me. i haven't seen the 8008 on Ken's site so i'm wondering if there's a diy out there for that one.

The 8008 is not a CGS design. It's Michael Ford's design based on the TR-808 kick circuit.

The 808 kick circuit is published in numerous places online. You might start here:

You'd have to separate out the kick circuit and make your own PCB. Don't know if you want to get that DIY. ;-)

You could have a go at this one there's A PCB layout

microlarge is a fantastic site for anyone wanting the odd 808 clone voice
