Spun aluminum spheres weren't difficult to acquire in the
past.  Often surplused from military/space/lab projects where
they were used as tanks.  If you are near those kinds of
facilities, you could probably find them locally.  New,
you'll have to pay a bit and 'spun aluminum' and 'dewar'
or 'tank' should give you search results you'll need.
