Greetings...

I noticed that one of the black Mk 2's is owned by Justin Hayward/John Lodge. By any chance... is this the 'Tron mentioned by Tony Visconti as the one with the customized string patches... the one that Tony sampled for use by the Moodies recently? If so... what happened to it?

Since the patches are loops and not all notes were sampled, no. I 
think there are better patches available.

With all due respect, JP, mellotrons don't have "patches", they have taped sounds. Big difference...
