Having just heard again the remastered Daniel. There is no doubt whatsoever
the 'tron flutes were used mostly here.(The credit on the sleeve notes are a
bit of a giveaway where it says "Elton John-Mellotron Flutes"). Ken Scott is
indeed credited for his A.R.P. BUT, the solo could have been double tracked
A.R.P and'Tron! (plus, of course Davey's banjo).
I guess only the engineer and Gus Dudgeon the Producer will know for sure.
