Listen to those Samples!

Listen to those Samples!

2004-03-14 by David Jacques

I recently purchased a Yamaha Motif ES7 and decided to sample in the
sounds from my SM400 Mellotron. Well, what a surprise when I listened to
the sounds on the headphones. Its amazing what you hear at the end of
these tapes! Right after the note dies out I can hear someone breathing
in as ready to speak. On the Cellos at the high A note, you actually
hear someone start to say "B" after the breath! Amazing....

You can also hear bows scraping and other strange artifacts. I heard
someone drop something in the middle of a sound... Very funny...

Has anyone else heard this?

One of the tapes on my 400 had a voice at the end saying..."You
bungled it!!!" For real.

The Chamberlin Flute and Bass Clarinet recordings are very good but
they have a low rumble sound on several notes. It's the sound of a
large truck gearing up. I guess Harry's bedroom was close to a main
road and a stop sign.
