John Hawken used the Hammond sound during a Strawbs show I saw back in the 70s(in the middle of Hero and Heroine).Real powerful grindy sound.They opened for King Crimson that night and there were FOUR trons onstage at once(Hawken had 2 and 2 for Crimson).

OK, I stand corrected. Wasn't there (was 12 at the time) and haven't seen the vid. Strange, although I suppose he already had four free-standing keyboard instruments! Andy T.

Andy, you'll have to trust Frank on this one cause he's reeeaaalllly, really old and also probably witnessed Edison screwing in his first light bulb. Also, he once wrote a book about Mellotrons although I think he mighta been too cheap to put color photos in it.
