M-Tron complete?

M-Tron complete?

2003-07-31 by Michael Peters

the variety of sounds on the M-Tron discs seemed to cover all existing
Mellotron sounds at first, but now I'm wondering ... especially the first
Crimson albums featured full-Orchestra and Brass sounds that I don't seem to
find among the M-Tron sounds. Can anyone confirm that?

Hi Michael,
I've got orchestra on my M300 and there is a close sound to this on
the first Mtron disc but it's not called orchestra. It's in with one of the
strings sounds of which as I recall there are about 3. I think one is
16 violins or something, one is definitely M300 violins (A) and the
other I think orchestra. It's not string section 'cause that appears on
the 2nd disc (with rather dodgey starts to the notes!). The Mk II
brass is on disc one (called mixed brass) but because it's been
tuned it doesn't seem to sound as tronny to me. I'm not familiar with
a lot of KC stuff but the mixed brass is the ITWOP brass for sure.

Tape Bank vol. 2 has "orchestra", as well as M300 strings and solo
violin, and a few sounds from a miked MKII.
