I don't know. Looks like a complete fake to me. I reported it to eBay and they've promised to look into it (the auction, not the mellotron). The tip off was all that name dropping. Nowhere in there was Mike Pinder mentioned and EVERYBODY knows that a well-travelled/played 'tron is nuffink if Pinder hasn't played it.

Relax all... Rick has a point. That's why I'm going to throw in a roll of Mike Pinder autographed toilet paper. Each and every sheet has Mike's 'official' autograph, scanned from a photo I have of THE original MIIke Pinder autographed Mellotron lid. So when your done playing and you have something that just need to make the "journey out..." Mike will be there to clean up afterwards.
 
Or, I might just run downstairs and have "Mike" autograph the lid right now. ;? )

i hope it doesn't hurt too much to part with it, and that you
get every penny that it's worth. if i were in the market, this
would be one that i would pursue with diligence. alas, i'm broke
at the moment, and i already have a pretty nice m400.

i'm sure we'll all be keeping an eye on this auction.

Yes, Frank is a complete wanker, but he does know the odd thing or two about mellotrons. We're all certain it's a lovely machine and you'll be eternally happy if you buy it. However, if he shows you the Pinder signature on the lid, it's a forgery.

Go visit him and you'll see what I'm talking about. If he asks if you want to see his vacation photos, make an excuse and leave. We all do that when we visit him.
