general midi

2007-03-16 by Doug Berg

Please excuse the question but I would like some logical explanation
as to why people like to MIDI analog boards. My Prophet 5 has midi
in/out, no thru and truthfully only used it once to make a recording
with other instruments. It seemed to be more of a pain in the ass then
it was worth. Frankly it seems easier to me to just have them routed
thru a mixer and at the ready. Those global changes can be a disaster
if you forget what is where. Again I really don't have a good working
experience with Midi so be kind! Doug

hi Doug probably best used with sequencing ala Geoff Downes. The
Prophet being single timbre/5 voice fat polyphonic would have done
well within sequences doing big analog chords on it's own channel.
