If it had started "Newent" "The Fifties" (which would have been more to 
the point) nobody would bother going to see it!

Far better if they'd started with his background:
"Joe Meek grew up in a desperately unfashionable part of deepest hick 
Gloucestershire and spoke with the local accent, albeit a squeaky camp 
version of that vernacular. He built the first TV set in Newent and 
amused locals by constructing silly bits of electronica as novelties 
for the local town fair. (Newent is an odd town. It has an annual

....But Gloucestershire is not a cool place to talk about, obviously.
