Hi Don,

That should be your serial #. If you look at the other parts of your 
Mellotron carefully, you will find that number on nearly every major part. It 
may also be engraved on a small plate on the back of the machine... You'll 
find it on the underside of the removable wooden blocks on either end of the 
keyboard, etc.

I assume that prior to assembly the entire machine is "kitted" and all of the 
parts are labeled with that number.
