I've been told that #1145 rolled off the line in Nov.'73, and was originally 
sent out with cello/3v/flutes, so your #886 has to be rather older - early 
'73? Mind you, that depends on how things worked with Sound Sales, I 
suppose. I've never quite understood this - were all M400s produced in the 
UK, then some exported and 'improved' (cough, splutter) by SS?
