I can vouch for the quality of the Roland JV vintage card. The 3 violins and flute are most convincing. It seems strange though playing the flutes and not hearing that wretched top D! The choir is OK in only certain areas of the keyboard, as it suffers the effects of pitch shifting due to the lack of multi sampling. Making direct comparisons between the Roland and my EMI tron. The tron definitely has more grunt, with each note having a character slightly different from the notes either side of it.-Nice! However, if I were gigging I would be tempted to use the Roland because it's just so close,(particularly with a bit of upper-mid boost) and by the time the sound has been buried beneath everyone else in the band, no-one, apart perhaps from one or two on the list here wouldn't complain. Anyway, I wouldn't want to risk damaging my prized keyboard. Andy Kinch M400 EMI #1405
