Hello Wolfgang
As far as I can remember (and I'm over twenty one) when ever this question has been posed, the answer is always. They are made up names just to sound good along with the name Marcos.
Perhaps some one else out there can come up with a better more interesting story. Hope so.
Regards Jac.

I think that's generally true, but always believed the Mantula named
was used because it ended the same way as Taran-tula (an eight legged
thing) and the model was the first 8 cylinder Marcos?

Mantara, I've no idea on. Mantaray was I guess just a variation on
Mantara to distinguish the shape and Mantis, of course, is a much
used Marcos name.

Cheers.

Mark

In the meantime i have have found the meaning of " Mantula"
It is a new word between TARANTULA, a spider and MANTIS, an insect.
In german (Gottesanbeterin) und (Tarantel)
But it is much more interested for me to know the meaning of Mantara,
because i have one.
